Reminds me of the old joke.

An old gentleman lived alone in New Jersey . He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard. His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:

Dear Vincent, I am feeling pretty sad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days. Love, Papa

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Papa, Don't dig up that garden. That's where the guns are buried. Love, Vinnie

At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any guns. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Papa, Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I could do under the circumstances.

Police Chief Norm Jacobs said he doesn't expect the phone to be ringing off the hook with requests for police to search their homes. He nevertheless hopes the program will encourage people to think about gun violence as an infectious disease like Ebola, and a home inspection like a vaccine to help build up the city's immune system.
This thread needs to be moved to the "serve and protect" thread.

I don't think I'll be too concerned about that.

"We've got to do something to reduce the murders, so call us and we'll come and search your home for misplaced black yutes."

    Probably more effective.

Somehow, I feel like a should be re-posting the pick of the pissy princess here, but I'll just let her go....(hiss, boooo!)

This rash of Gestapo/Stasi tactics among medium sized City Police Chiefs must be a EveryNazi/Moms Demand Oppression tactic. If they didn't cook it up they're going to pronounce it "Good community action".

The Police Chief of Buffalo steals property from the dead. Just like those scumbags who watch Funeral notices in order to pilfer dead people's things.

The Police Chief of Benoit wants to turn residents of the City into Snitches. What's to stop some enemies of a law abiding kid from planting a drop piece or a bag of weed? Probable cause? What probable cause?

What's next - Committees for Defense of the Revolution? Soviet Style Block Watches, looking for would be "gun criminals"? Maybe a Jamaican style "Gun Court"?

Police need to find real criminals not make ones out of innocent people.
