Default Happy 4th! Laws don't apply anyway!

I absolutely love how PA's "firework laws" work...

They can be legally sold in PA... but not to PA resident, however NJ and NY residents can buy them legally but not take them home as they are illegal in those states as well.

So they set up in back yards and blow shit up... right now there are at least 5 fireworks shows going off within 500 yards of me, the air is so thick with smoke from mortars that the inside of my house is starting to stink... someone is shooting off mortars that make my windows shake and I can actually feel the concussion of em going off...

I just find it funny how police are happy to enforce laws which don't exist... but where there are written laws, designed to keep kinds from blowing themselves up they don't both even driving around.

ehh well I didn't pay for them, let the show continue! where's my beer :P
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

They copied the PA la from the Ohio law. For years now I usually went home to see my family in Akron and on the way back we bought fireworks (including the BIG monsters) and brought them back ... same thing there, you have to sign a paper saying you will be transporting them out of the state within 24 hours.

I used to go to Ohio and get them, but now I just get someone I know from NJ to come over and get them for me.

I'm experiencing the same thing in my neighborhood, including someone that think semi-automatic pistol fire and fireworks sound the same. After 3 calls to the police with no response, i hit a payphone, hit 911, made the report again, informed the operator I would begin shooting back in 5 minutes, and hung up. 2 minutes and 11 seconds later (yes I timed it) there were 2 cruisers on the block. Crime scene investigation just left, they took lots of photos, including the photos of the remains of whatever the hell it was that blew a hole approximately 4 inches deep and 8 inches across in the street.

I'm all for fireworks, but people just don't seem to know when its getting out of hand.
Please help my Baby Kitties and I avoid being homeless.

i used my cali ID to buy some fun stuff this year. i am an Oregon resident anyway... lol

i was launching some mortars off the back deck at the appartments tonight and had a few neighbors looking on to see what was going on.

i think the laws here in ALL aspects are silly and twisted... why not keep it going with the fireworks laws... lol

FWIW, the best fireworks when I lived in NJ were always set off by the cop in the neighborhood -- confiscation is a beautiful thing, isn't it?

ummm... i wish fireworks were legal... morters are fun to shoot off... cops don't make up their own laws when i open carry in the malls near me... ... that's cool that they don't enforce fireworks laws on the 4th... I like watching a lot of fireworks... at least it's legal for me to buy fountains and noisy ground cakes... too bad i can't buy rockets or morters.

oh yeah... ohio residents can shop at their stores... out of staters have 72 hours to remove them from the state while ohio residents have 24... so i guess if you are an ohio resident and buy them on the 4th and detroy them before you leave the state (ie light them off) it could be legal... we need pa to be able to do that... give the out of staters 72 hours and give us 24... i could burn through 500 in fireworks in one night easy... cake after cake...

Fireworks are definately part of the 4th fun. Until someone at a bar decides to light off armegeddon above a parking lot full of cars. Which yours is parked in...

The Evo was not a happy camper. And some of the ash deposits left a milky residue that you literally have to scrape off. As it was lightly raining on and off yesterday.

I get the fun of fireworks, I REALLY REALLY DO. I'll be heading off to my buddies place tomorrow night for a show that rivals most towns, but downtown Pittsburghs.

I just wish people would observe some sense when using them. Personal safety, property, then fun. Why does it have to be reckless or negligent behavior to be fun?

Good lord! thank god I wasn't there to see it happen. Or I'd be in jail. Its a $30k car but we have almost half that shoved into it in parts. Its also our company car, so if it looks bad. We look bad. I coulda twisted someone's head off last night I swear. I mean, if you MUST blow shit up, and shoot fireworks at stuff. Then it should be at your own stuff - on your own property. Or maybe semi-automatic rifle fire WILL get confused as "fireworks"...

    Some people's kids.

If you have a Cali ID, I think you have a 5 ball limit on Roman Candles, right?
