    Default Motorcycle CCW - Holster?

I am new to the CCW and I recently purchased a Spring Field 4" XD40.

I ride my motorcycle quite often and I am wondering if there are suggestions on holsters for those that ride?

    Thanks

    Russ

i am curious about this also, not sure i woudl trust my OC holster for a bike ride it is a leather holster with no strap , it hold the pistol tightly but for on a bike i think i would prefer one with a strap..

I OC on my bike all the time if not on the to or from work.

I use a Fobus roto holster with no problems in retention. I am considering purchasing the Serpa

Old as dirt but runs good.

I use a galco fletch holster for carry on a galco holster belt, regardless of what I'm wearing.

Nice XS. I have an 81 XJ550. Those old Yamahas will run forever with basic maintenance. I think a shoulder holster would be good for riding a motorcycle.

I use a Galco IWB sometimes, but not the most comfortable on a bike. Mostly use a Serpa OWB with jacket, leather vest, or loose fitting t-shirt covering. Sometime I just OC and that usually keeps most people from tailgating me.

Edit: Forgot to mention, there are a lot of leather vests that have a built in pocket type holster. I got one from Renegade Classics here on Rt. 30 in York.

If you like Fobus Holsters, you will LOVE Blackhawk Serpas. I used to use Fobus almost exclusively, since I bought my first Serpa I'll never go back. I buy the sportster version because I prefer paddles, and it only comes with the paddle attachment for under $30 on Ebay usually. The retention mechanism is intuitive and easy to operate. Also the paddle attaches to the belt much more securely, actually its a pain in the ass to take off even.

If you're interested in crash safety and wear full gear, a holster is not an option.
I keep my P7 in an exterior vertical chest pocket on my riding jacket. Access to it is quick enough.
