I am working on putting this 9mm AR pistol together. I am getting ready to order the last pieces I need. One final question: The vertical fore-grip is a no-no on a pistol, right? But an angled fore-grip is OK?

Thanks EM. I'll post up some pics in a few a week or two, when I have all the parts and get it built.

I hope my wife likes it, and I hope she never asks "How much did you spend?". Although it won't be "high end", it was more than I expected.

Building your own CAN be less expensive, but building it the way you WANT it sometimes ends up costing more.
That's why I love ARs - I can't afford to buy a rifle off the rack, but I can afford to buy a handguard, and toss it into a box, buy a trigger and toss it into a box, buy it all over time until I have what I need.
People always say "You could just put fifty dollars aside until you have enough to buy a gun" - which sounds good in theory, but in reality, there's always something that pops up and that money gets applied to something else.

Hope it all works out and runs great right out of the gate.

I did have some Christmas bonus money that I told her was mostly going into guns, but between putting another 5.56 together, with a red dot sight, putting a red dot and some other accessories onto 10/22, and 1,000 rounds of 5.56, I exceeded the bonus by some amount greater than three figures.

Quoting my own post to say GRRR to Optics Planet. I placed an order for the R&D Precision Colt Style Magazine Adapter on 1/19 with an expected 10-19 day ship time, meaning 2/7 at the latest. That date became 2/5 at the earliest, then 2/12, then 2/20, then 2/22, then ETA unknown. When I check the website, the item now says Place A Backorder, estimated to ship August 2025.

They do make it easy to cancel online, we'll see if it actually works though.

I found the same item, claimed to be in stock and ready to ship, for the same price (and a 10% discount), from Delta Team Tactical. I placed the order this morning. This, and an RMR mount from Optics Planet, are all I need to complete the build. Everything else is put together.
