2014 Firearm Deer (expand God's Cty, now results)

-----------------------YIKES ! ! !--------------------------

Just received an end of week report. Two of the locals got bucks. A 5 & 6 pointer.

OUR CAMP THREW A '7'----A total strikeout, including not a one of the gang got a shot.

Most did not see a deer after Tuesday.

TALKING TO THEM ON THE PHONE----THIS WAS A 1ST IN CLOSE TO 45 YEARS.

I was the only one that got close 7:40 AM Monday with that really nice Y buck.

I'll second what Fossil stated, alot more bow hunters in the woods nowadays.

My gang up in the Endless Mountains may have a little mileage on them, but these guys are still Class 'A' Hunters. Shutout ! ! ! Hard to believe.

The three 8s and the total 7 legal bucks 5 minutes from home are still a No-Go with me.

In God's Country thread, I had a spectacular hunt for those 20 minutes between 7:20AM & 7:40AM on opening day. That was more than enough for me.

In 3D the deer numbers are down but I have to say we have had some MONSTER bucks killed in the area and I've seen a couple others running around. 20 years ago a big buck was like seeing a unicorn around here.
