    Default Amazing!!!!!

How the tech talk dies with the archery season. I will admit over the years I have abandoned small game for the quest of the bigger game. Challenge to all. Do a small game hunt and post a pick from it. I know you always want a pic. Yes leave me alone. Post a pic of your small game hunt from now till opening day of buck. Bear season included boys. I will be going out thanksgiving morning so I will post. Go back to your roots one time till deer season and have a hunt not normally taken and post the reward or just the pic of the dog or a pic of where you hunt. You may enjoy the walk with a old friend (gun) and may rekindle the romance of your younger days. By the way I will call you guys out personally if no one responds to this, it's how I roll!
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Sorry A5, no camera in the woods with me... I prefer going out and leaving the cell phone in the car so as not to be bothered...

I go out for small game every year as much as possible. A few squirrels this year already, and haven't seen any rabbits in the areas that I hunt. Went out 3 times during fall turkey too, but again, no luck. Still not a bad time, me and my wife's uncle just enjoy the time spent together, plus a leisurely walk in the woods with little pressure to provide results is always better than a day at work.

I must admit that I do not hunt archery... I'm more of a rifle guy. I am sure that if I ever get into it my small game hunting will be suffering a little, but I will always go out regardless. Besides the squirrel, grouse, turkey, rabbits, and pheasants I am after, I use the time to scout the area for deer sign to prepare. Its a win win.

    Time to run into town.

I am always on the look out for ground grizzlies. The other day, our coldest and windiest day, here is one right out of Caddyshack, waving to me. I think he was waving.

An hour later coming back home, there he is again. Tough dude. I may give him a pass next year. MAYBE ! !

This year was the first year I archery hunted. I told myself I would still get out for squirrel, and did...twice. So far...one bushy tail, and he didn't make it past lunchtime.

Since the success of archery season has started to use up real estate in the freezer, I will be simmering and picking all the meat from the squirrels this year, vacuum packed and ready to use in squirrel quesadillas, chili, stew, and casserole.

Good luck to you young man.

A guy at my club asked me why there were no pics of a bear in my back yard. There was a bear sighting in my old back yard (2 miles) about 3 or 4 years back. It was probably a black lab

Can't wait to see your pics.

Here's a pic from when I took the dog and the shotgun for a walk looking for grouse a week or so ago. My NEF 20 guage that I bought for $25 about 10 years ago.
