Default 5.45 x 39 creeping up in price

First Century dropped their sale on 5.45 x 39 last spring, now Rguns bumped up prices $20. It used to be $205 for two tins, now it is $225.

Anyone know what shipping costs for Aim Surplus to PA is? They are in Ohio. Has anyone ordered 5.45 from Aim before?

Any other 5.45 x 39 sources members here use? Anyone else love 5.45?

I presently dont own one, but did own a 5.45x39 in the past.

I liked it, thought it was a bit more accurate than my 7.62x39 MAK-90. ...and cheaper to shoot. Probably should get another and buy up some zombie ammo.

I got two crates shipped to my house from AIM. I can't for the life of me recall the shipping costs but I went in with a buddy of mine. I still have two unopened 1080rd tins at my house and I'm not even half way through the 3rd but I've been tempted to pick up another. AIM still has the tins for $119 and I have not seen it any cheaper anywhere else so it may be your best bet. At the gun show in York, a guy was selling the tins for $125 each. That was the best deal I have seen. If I can find his e-mail addy I'll see if he has anything left and if he is local.

If I had a gun that would take it, I'd love 5.45x39 because it's 2x less than 7.62x39 and 4x less than 5.56x45!

For some reason my ears are burning.

Hmm. Let's see. Yeah, 5.45x39 is going up. It's only natural that it will, between the suppliers over in Eastern Europe realizing what a gold mine they're sitting on, and the fact that other EBR calibers have pretty much been relegated to SHTF status, except for the truly hardcore. Consumption and demand are up, so it'll respond.

I bought long and deep from Century, thus the nick, plus the couple toys that I have. It's eye opening to see what the stuff is going for and realizing just how far ahead I've gotten already. Of course, if things start to look even worse than they are, look for anything that can go out the front of a steel barrel to skyrocket in price and value.

That's awesome dude. It's funny but the 5.45 is my daughter's favorite gun too.

Gotta think vertically. Get each rifle set the way you want them in every detail, ammo included, and then move on to the next. Buy the rifle, etc., etc., etc., but get the ammo at the same time. There's nothing sadder than a rifle that starved to death because a future President signed a piece of paper.

I agree 100%. I really wanted some of the 8x56R Mausers but the ammo is horrible to find. I passed on some great deals because of the ammo.
