CHARTER ARMS????
Havent fired many of these. Looking to get my mom the .38 special lavender lady. They seem to be ok, just wondering if its worth getting or not really worth buying. Do they last? Or is it a brand to avoid like taurus?

Re: CHARTER ARMS????
My take on Taurus was that they run hot and cold...mostly hot. I would not hesitate to buy another one.
My understanding of Charter Arms is that they are solid and reliable guns with, perhaps, a little to be desired in fine fit and finish.
For revolvers I automatically look to Smith & Wesson or Ruger. There are, of course, other good brands...

Re: CHARTER ARMS????
I have owned a Charter off duty for years. I haven't put thousands of rounds through it, but I have no issues trusting it for carry. I did smooth the internals a little to give it a little better of a trigger pull, but you'll have this. As for Taurus, I like them too. Lots of people have a bad opinion of them, mostly from word of mouth and internet horror stories, in my personal opinion.

Re: CHARTER ARMS????
I have a few Charter Arms guns. My opinion is they are fine guns. Their warranty work is outstanding. I have sent two guns back to them ( first was my error and nothing was actually wrong with the gun, but they did everything I asked anyway, the second was an old 38 I bought and had a few minor tweeks needed and they took care of ). Always super fast ( 1 week door to door on first, 1.5 weeks on second ).
They have gone through some re-organizations and moves over the years - but I would not hesitate buying one !"Tastefully Pimptastic"

Re: CHARTER ARMS????
I've come close once or twice to picking one up in .38 SPL but just never pulled the trigger on a purchase. I'll be interested also to see what others have to say on Charter.

I have a CA Bulldog in .44 special. It works well. Trigger slightly on the gritty side. Good carry piece if you want a revolver that starts with .4

Re: CHARTER ARMS????
I have one in 40 S&W and it's a good little gun. It will never match my S&W's for fit and finish, but, for the price, it will do. My LGS had one on display and I got it on a whim and have not been sorry.

Re: CHARTER ARMS????
We have a few of them, all made in Shelton by the current Charter Arms / MKS organization; my wife has a 2" Lavender Lady in 38, and I have a 3" 44 Bulldog Pug (says so on the bbl), a 2" 8-shot 22LR Pathfinder, and a 4" 22 Magnum Pathfinder Target. No problems, and all have smoothed up with lubrication and use. The 44 Bulldog fits nicely in a Size 8 Remora holster and pretty much disappears IWB. It is sufficient light that you don't notice it, yet it delivers 2.5" to 3" groups at 15 yards if I do my part.
