Gun Shop near Wyomissing
Daughter is looking for a good gun shop in the Wyomissing area. Looking to purchase her first gun. Also what is the average turn around time in Berks Co. for an LTCF.
Thanks

15-30 minutes at the court house. I don't know of any gun shop in wyomissing. How far can you go? Lots are in a fifty mile radius.

Re: Gun Shop near Wyomissing
I used to go to college in that area and know it fairly well.
Gun Traders off of 61 is closest. Not a good choice, imo for first time handgun. Great for shotguns. Lots of shotguns... and wood stock rifles (oy, nothing bad with good ol' wood).
First time handgun... Kerpers Gun Shop off of Rt 625 in Narvon. Bit of a drive, but you WILL find handguns, good ones, and a female hunter/gun owner (and staff) who can help out. Recommended. Prices very good to competitive.

+1 on Kerpers! Really a nice area shop for a first time female buyer.

King's in KOP.
The Handgunner (Randy Hollowbush) in Topton.
Both are great shops.

Re: Gun Shop near Wyomissing
Yes. Get the application, and once you complete it, go to courthouse or satellite location and they issue on the spot. They basically just do a PICS check, then issue. Check the Berks County Sheriffs website for satellite locations. Iirc, they go to four locations in the county per month. (1x per week) and also at the airport. Much easier access than driving into the city and paying for parking.
If she wants to browse inventory, +1 on Kerpers or the Handgunner. If she already knows what she wants and just needs it ordered in, I'd suggest kitchen-table FFL/gunsmith Rob Horst at Firearms Solutions in Gibralter.

Yeah, nothing in Wyo. Sorry. Airport is best place to get LTCF.

If you're going to drive to these shops, might as well drive another 20 minutes and go to Tanner's....best gun shop in the nation, it seems...over 600 posts about great customer service....however the two shops he mentioned are excellent too!

Kerpers or Handgunner are both great places. If you want to fondle almost every model, check out Cabelas.
