    Default Different type of camo

I have been reading a book about surviving the wild. The author gets very in depth on camouflage and how he can sneak up on deer close enough to touch. He explains a highly effective method.

Step 1: cover yourself or coat yourself in mud
Step 2: use dead leaves, barks, just any kind forestry. Even rolling on the ground while mud is wet works.
Step 3: use cooled off charcoal for face paint.

The mud will dry and basically glue off the forestry on you

What this method does is make you complete invisible to wildfire. It also hides your scent and makes you smell like the forest. I may put on crappy clothes and try it.

Is this a real thread or are you going to make an outlandish statement and then dissappear from it for a while?

i would like to know because I would like to make a few serious posts in you thread but I don't want to look like a blithering idiot for falling for you trolling attemps again.

I can look like an idiot all by myself with no help.
    Some people just plain suck.

I'm not trolling. This is an actual highly effective technique that has been used for centuries. It's just very uncommon to the modern day hunter

    O.k. I'll commit.

I know a few guys who use ghille suits to achieve similar results. They even make them themselves. I am new to hunting and am still learning how to effectively use camo and block my scent.

I don't want to sneak up on them, I want to stand off 100 yards and put a bullet in their head. What did Stewart say to do with all the TICKS crawling all over ya from rolling in the dirt?

Cover yourself with their entrails. They'll think you're one of them. As long as it doesn't rain.

When I was young,I worked on my uncle's dairy farm for 7 years. We had to do the morning milking before going hunting. After leaning against 40+ cows,I had the best scent blocker.Find a farm on the way and gets some manure and spread it around your stand, etc. They'll never get a chance to smell you. With camo,I found most look like a dark blob at a distance.I go with lighter colors like tans and red/browns that seem to match the fallen leaves.I hunt in hilly woods,so even in a stand, there's always a hill with leaves behind me.Whatever your locale, try to use something that looks like it belongs there.Put your camo in your stand, etc and see how easy you can spot it.Hunting isn't as hard as people make it out to be.Mostly location, location, location.Good Luck!
