Help with scope ideas on a Winchester 75
I have my fathers 1930s era model 75 target. I have shot it a few times but my eyes are getting poor and the Peepsight's just don't allow me to get the results I want, and the results I know that the gun is capable of. It's been drilled from the factory for one of the old time very long scopes. As you can see in the picture the holes are about 7 inches apart and pretty far down the barrel. any ideas on how to get a normal scope up on here. There's no taper to the barrel so I don't need to worry about that, but there is the issue of Eye relief. I was thinking maybe I could just get a really Long rail and drill the holes myself, at one time I was a machinist, but I no longer have access to a milling machine, but I could probably find some of that would let me use one. But thought I would throw it out there to see if anybody else is ever done anything like this.

I have one as well, and I never thought of putting a rail on there.
Good idea.
I'm for trying it as it won't alter the rifle.
What about a pistol scope?
With that long of a rail you can have it placed pretty much anywhere you would need.
