Moving into Philadelphia County

From Montco.... and when I do, I will have a Montco permit that will be valid for 4 years following my move. Must I reapply for a permit in Philadelphia as soon as I move in to Philly, or will my Montco issued permit still be valid until its expiration?

It's good until it expires. The law doesn't require it, but you could let Mont Co know of your address change so they can send you a reminder and renewal form in the mail to your new and correct Philly address. The you go ahead and renew through Philly.

This is also useful should the Montco Sheriff ever think he has reason to believe he should revoke your LTCF, all that is required is that he send a notice to your address on record. If that is your old address, his requirement is fulfilled, but you know nothing about it because you are no longer there, and are unable to act on it. Could end up in deep doodoo as you continue to carry on what is now a revoked license, and you don't even know it.

But, your current license is still good until it expires, according to the PA statutes.
