    Default Affordable Side by Side Shotguns

    Looking to get a side by side shotgun to do some hunting and clay breaking occasionally (nothing serious). I realize side by side shotguns and budget friendly aren't usually used together. What used shotguns should I keep an eye out for? I know of the Stevens 311...would like to keep it under $250 if possible and 12 gauge.

    Finding a used SxS in my neck of the woods is really rare. New try Stoeger. There coach guns are not bad and the Uplander is reasonable.
    I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

    A used Stevens 311 or Stoeger might be about the only SxS in that price range... Stevens is a good choice too!

    The Chinese at one time imported new SxS with hammers in that price range. Quality and fit were not that great; reliability, I honestly can't say.

    Yeah thats what I was thinking. Encks is the shop I got to when I'm back home...right now in State College.

    If you ever get up to Hughesville, look in to Dixie's Gunshop on Route 220. A bit more than an hour east of State College.
    Last time there, they had more than a dozen used SXSs on display. Finding one for $250?? That is another story entirely.

    Check out the "Want To Sell" section on this sight. There's a guy selling a few SxS shotguns for under $300. The only catch is he lives in MontCo.
