    Unhappy Tough Economy Hitting Home...

Well, today's troubling economy has hit close to home. My current employer has fallen upon tough times and is looking to make some cuts. I have a feeling that my lack of seniority (only there about 14 mos) puts me at risk. I want to be pro-active about this and not just sit on my butt and hope the problem goes away. If anybody knows of any potential network administrator position in NEPA, I would appreciate a PM.

    Thanks!

    Good luck to you.

I know where you are coming from. My wife has been laid off for a few months now. I had just been laid off this past monday "temporarily". Fortunatly she has just found a new job. She will be making more money than she was.

My company just laid off all the HR managers, and I'm thinking my department is next. I'll save you a spot in line.

Keep your resumes polished and always stay current on training yourself so you are quick to be marketable. I am amazed at how freqently I see people get a job and become complacent with the assumption that their job will be there forever. I've heard people say that it's their employer's responsibility to train them... then they are surprised when they are let go first.

Good luck everyone. Business cycles always go up and down. This one was overdue and it was just accentuated by the spending in Iraq and the fools who took out mortgages they could not afford. 2009 will be a better year.

a little off topic but does anyone know if this is true? I got an email stating the following companies have filed for bankruptcy: Hollywood Video , Levitz, Shaper Image, Performance Team Freight, Linens N Things, Circuit City and Bed Bath and Beyond. I am pretty sure Sharper Image, Linens n Things and Hollywood Video have, they have all closed by me...........
