Default Police: Bucks County man fires shot into neighbors home to unload gun

    WTF??!!

    http://6abc.com/news/police-bucks-co...ad-gun/327117/

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- Police in Pennsylvania say a man accused of shooting a bullet through a neighbor's window told a judge he fired the gun because it was the only way he knew how to unload it.

Middletown Detective Patrick Nicastro tells the Bucks County Courier Times that 31-year-old George Byrd IV of Penndel at first denied being behind the shooting but then acknowledged during his arraignment that he fired the weapon to clear the chamber because he was unfamiliar with guns.

Authorities say Byrd fired the gun early Friday afternoon. No one was injured.

Byrd is being held in the Bucks County jail on $20,000 bond. No attorney is listed on court papers.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 8.

If you don't know how it works, leave it alone!

This idiot reinforces the anti-2A notion that the average citizen cannot be trusted with firearms. In any case, a court-ordered vasectomy should be a condition for his release.

Me thinks he is in CYA mode and is covering up a ND.
If he was a cop and shot his wife in the head, it would all go away with a simple "Your honor, I didn't know".

This actually reinforces the idea that idiots shouldn't own guns and that average citizen would know not to shoot a gun into the neighbor's house to unload the gun. It's no different than the idiot safety Mom in her Honda mini van with her kids buckled into car seats like astronauts going to the moon but is talking or texting away while running motorcycles and other drivers off the road and not even noticing it.

Was firing into the ground that difficult? It would have been safer than firing into a home? The stupid things people do.
