    Default remington ammo rebates

what a joke, I bought buckshot at dunhams with a five dollar mail in rebate in January and finally got my rebate check today. over the years i've always bought rifle, slug ammo and then sent in the rebate forms then months later you get your money, but don't buy too much or else they won't give you all of your money back. I'm done with this method. my two cent rant for the day.

Why, those no good, dirty bastages!

I bought hunting rifle ammo ammo there about the same time and I never did get my rebate money.

That may or may not be a direct result of my never having mailed in the forms/UPCs. I just found them about a month ago completed and waiting to be mailed out.

I never did like the rebate scheme.

In other industries, they made it difficult to fulfill the contract. Then, it takes forever, if it ever comes. Sometimes businesses fold before paying out. Other times you leave something out or they just try to oppose you hoping you give it up. Then they must take it home or something or get a bonus for saving money. And sometimes they drag their feet as they got your money and want to collect the interest on your 'overpayment' a little while longer. Multiply by thousands of customers and you get millions of dollars. Multiply that by a few months interest and its really you giving them a free loan.

I try to avoid the rebates like the plague for the above reasons. I will still consider buying if I was going to do so anyway but I never count on the rebate for my decision making.
