    Default "Open Areas"?

I heard in another post some mention of shooting in Open Areas... are there any elegible areas in SE PA where you can just walk, put a couple of jugs of water and shoot into the side of a hill freely? Or does all shooting have to be at a registered range/private property?

    Thanks,

    -MT

I know of a place near to where I deer hunt that guys do just that. Now whether its legal or not is another question, although I do know the local law up there kindof turns a blind eye when near deer season and guys are sighting in deer rifles, etc.

If you know of or have property in an area without firearms discharge ordinances, or at the least laxed enforcement, you could probably get away with it. That said, I've shot my .22 in my back yard to rid it of unwanted groundhog pests, but thats only on a sporadic basis. Not sure if what I'm doing breaks the law but the neighbors could care less and the man has never shown up at my door.
