I bought a beautiful sightron at $180 this summer. Crystal clear, adjustable objective, lifetime warranty, etc. They have models that are a little cheaper.

Not sure if it's powerful enough for 300+ yards but I have to be realistic in my budget. Anybody have any info that could help me out?
Optical quality is certainly an interesting topic because the definition of "quality" is largely subjective. The classic "You get what you pay for" saying definitely applies to scopes. Feature-based quality (high magnification, variable power, fancy reticles, bdc turrets etc.) is usually what sells and it conveniently has a lower price. Don't fall for such traps.

At the end of the day everyone needs a scope to have clear glass and reliable tracking. Meaning, when you dial in a 1/4 MOA of adjustment that is actually the value you get on paper.
