I live in the search area and did not think open carry would be a smart move with hundreds of troopers
...ATF.....FBI etc combing all over this place. If someone called in an mwag there would be troopers with ar's coming fast since the general pop is very on edge. I have been concealed since last thurs. any other locals doing the same?

I was in GIANT yesterday and OC'd as usual... the check out girl said--- you out for the reward today? lol.....no other issues....Stopped for gas and a PSP was pulling out, cant say for sure but I think he saw my S&W. I nodded and went on my way inside.

Unless you match the shooters description, you probably have no worries. I am not there to witness this whole fiasco, but I don't think I would cover up when I do come up that way. I didn't the weekend right after the shooting, and I'll be up there again Friday. I won't be stopping in Canadensis to see their reaction.

Not a bad move. Might not be necessary but at least you have not gone overboard and stopped carrying altogether.

I was at the Chestnut hill Community day on Sunday. I OC'ed the whole time in front of PSP's and Sheriff. No issues with them.
But I was there to recruit for my Cub scout pack. The Cub Master was CC.
One guy from the Minsi Trails Exe committee came by and was worried because "carry was banned in the township park" I lol and was great I can challenge them under the PA UFA and explained it to them. Then it was because of the cops there. I told him no prob, I already walked the whole event and it so happened I ended up with my strong side towards the people and no one inc the cops had an issue. He walked away at that.
BTW it's no carry W/O lic or by IAW PA law. So they have it right.

Cliffs notes- carried at a big event up here no real issues.

When my wife and I lived in Colorado there was a shooting spree that targeted police officers on the western slope at the time my wife and I were vacationing in SW CO and Utah.

There was a roadblock and search of all vehicles.

One LEO walked up to our car and pointed a shotgun at my head from 3 ft away.

The cop asking questions asked who we were and what we were doing/going.

"I'm Dr. XXXXXX and my wife and I are coming back from our vacation in arches and canyonlands."

"Tell your friend pointing the shotgun at my head I'll never give him medical care if he needs it"

It took a second for what I said to register and he lowered the shotgun.
