Default TARGET SHOOTING ON MY FARM

Hello, this may be a stupid question, but I am new to to Bedford County Pa. I am trying to get an idea if it is legal to target and skeet shoot on my 200 acre farm. Where I am from you can shoot without restriction. Any help would be appreciated.

You would have to check the local ordinances. That is usually where any problems will come up. Call the local township or burough office and ask if there are any ordinances reguarding the discharge of firearms on you're property.

I believe that's a township noise issue, not a county issue. You would be best served calling your local township and asking them if there are restrictions or looking them up on line if available.

Knowing the Bedford area, I'm willing to bet you can shoot away, but check to be safe!

Call Your town like the others said and ask them if they have a discharge ordnance and get all the details. Some towns require a minimum amount of land and others do not, and some do not allow it at all.

I bet you can't hit the broadside of a barn, from the inside.

We always called county dispatch as a courtesy due to our farm being close enough to a town that noise traveled.

There was no local discharge ordinance, but its pretty handy to work with the locals/state guys as opposed to pissing them off.

Oh come on now, he did not say his farm was in Texas...

Darn....thought this thread was going to be an invitation to come shoot on his farm.

Heck, 200 acres...he wouldn't notice if we did.
