Default +1 for Wisconsin victim who carried

Received this message from USCCA and looked up the original news story too.

    Spreading the Truth About Guns...
BY TIM SCHMIDT - USCCA FOUNDER
Last week I shared some disturbing—although not surprising—news from the Minnesota State Fair. Despite its being a well-advertised “gun-free zone,” armed criminals tied up two workers at the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild exhibit on August 29th and then walked away with at least $10,000.

There goes the other side’s argument that criminals follow the rules...

But you and I know we’ll never read a retraction of that in the news. Just like we’ll never read an admission by the anti-gunners that good guys with guns help stop crime.

And so this week, I wanted to shine the spotlight on the other side of the fence—of what is happening in the places where guns ARE allowed.

One such event occurred a week or so ago in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. According to WITI—Fox6, “Milwaukee police say a suspect, about to commit a crime, was shot and killed by one of his intended victims.”

Police reported that “four suspects were attempting to rob a group of victims when one of the victims pulled out a handgun and shot one of the suspects. The suspect who was shot died at the scene—and the three other suspects fled.”

It turns out the suspect and the others who fled may have been part of a larger string of crimes in the area:

“Milwaukee police have confirmed there were some robberies in the area of 27th and Mineral that this same group of teens is believed to be responsible for” and that several arrests have been made since.

As expected, news of a concealed carry permit holder defending himself—and helping to dismantle a criminal gang—was picked up by the NRA and sites like BearingArms.com. But why aren’t we seeing stories like this in the mainstream media?

    Simple:

When it comes to guns, the mainstream media operates by spreading lies propagated by people like Michael Bloomberg and groups like Moms Demand Action.

So, what can we do? What difference can we make when the odds seem to be stacked against us?

Much like a deadly force encounter with a hardened criminal, it falls on responsible gun owners, yet again, to turn the tables and fight back against evil.

Luckily, we have the good sense to do just that.

So, let’s score (another) one for the good guys, and score one too for those of us with the courage to spread the truth about guns.
    Take Care and Stay Safe,

Victim fatally shoots armed robbery suspect on Milwaukee's south side

By Bruce Vielmetti of the Journal Sentinel
    Sept. 1, 2014

Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Monday on the city's south side.
The incident appears to have been related to an armed robbery attempt and was reported about 5:30 a.m. in the area of S. 2nd St. and National Ave.
Lt. Mark Stanmeyer had this update on the investigation:
Four suspects tried to rob a group of victims when one of the intended victims drew a gun and shot one of the suspects, who died at the scene and has yet to be positively identified.

The other three, who police suspect were involved in several recent robberies, fled. Some arrests have been made.

Stanmeyer's update did not indicate whether anyone in the victim group, including the shooter, were among those arrested, or whether the shooter was lawfully carrying the gun.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning, and no information about the victim was yet available, police said.

UPDATE: Dead robbery suspect was 15 yr. old thuglette:

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police have issued an update on a fatal shooting that occurred during an attempted armed robbery early Monday morning, September 1st. Police say a 15-year-old boy, whom they describe as a known gang member, was shot and killed at 2nd and National.

Police say the 15-year-old boy had previously been arrested for armed robbery, auto theft, fleeing and theft.

Police say he was a victim in a non-fatal shooting that occurred on August 1st in the 3100 block of N. 55th Street.

A 30-year-old West Allis man was taken into custody Monday for shooting the 15-year-old boy. He has been released — but ordered in to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office on a future date.

Police say they have arrested five additional suspects believed to be part of a group responsible for “dozens” of Milwaukee-area robberies committed over a three-day period — including the 2nd and National attempted armed robbery that resulted in the fatal shooting.

The suspects arrested by police are: two 14-year-old boys, a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, and an 18-year-old man.

Police records show two of the teenagers were arrested about two hours after the shooting — near a McDonald’s at 1st and Pierce.

Police say this is a “very active” investigation, that will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.

It's a shame, I just know they were on the way to turning their lives around, aspiring to become musicians.
