Council pulls trigger on gun clubs
This is crazy, mad dog gun control in the purest form, they don't care what the facts are, we are the governement you will do as you are told to.
Just look at some of the stupid statements made by Mayor David Miller
Look at who were the ones that disrupted the meeting, should have been several hundred of members of these effected gun clubs that should have been up in arms about this. So really who is to blame for losing their gun clubs?

Council pulls trigger on gun clubs
New ban, ouster of ranges at Union Station and in Scarborough among efforts to stem firearms crimes
Two gun clubs on city property - including one in the rafters of Union Station - will get the boot under Mayor David Miller's new rules aimed at curbing the number of handguns in the city, approved yesterday by city council.
After a near daylong debate, council voted 31-9 for a policy that prevents new gun clubs and manufacturers from setting up in the city.
The two affected gun clubs - the Scarborough Rifle Club at the Don Montgomery Community Recreation Centre, and the CNRA Gun Club at Union Station - will be given the opportunity to relocate elsewhere on private property.
Some right-leaning councillors criticized the move as a symbolic gesture that would punish law-abiding gun owners instead of criminals.
"It's as if we are using a paintball for Toronto's war on crime," said Councillor David Shiner (Ward 24, Willowdale).
But Mr. Miller and his allies cited police reports that show legal handguns are often stolen and used in crimes. In 2007, the Toronto Police Service said that 178 of 368 traceable crime guns seized by authorities were stolen from owners with a permit.
Mr. Miller, who has initiated a national campaign to persuade the federal government to completely ban handguns, said yesterday's decision was common sense, especially given the obvious security concerns at Union Station.
"You couldn't pick a worse place to have people wandering around with guns," Mr. Miller told reporters after the vote. "It's completely unacceptable from a public safety perspective."
He predicted that other gun clubs on private property in the city would eventually "wither away" as they close and new ones cannot be opened.
Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong (Ward 34, Don Valley East), a frequent critic of the mayor, said the measures were empty gestures: "This is window dressing. This is isn't going to get anything done."
But others argued that despite its limited authority to act - the federal and provincial governments have far more direct powers - the city should do what it can.
Yesterday's council session was disrupted briefly by a dozen or so members of the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, protesting against what they charged is reduced services for those who use drop-ins and shelter beds.
"We'll be back," they chanted, as police escorted the group from the chamber.

Re: Council pulls trigger on gun clubs
Can't say this really surprises me. I listen to Canada radio alot & I have some friends up there who are completely sick of it all. Some are in London & some from the Burlington area just outside Toronto. What they tell me is mind boggling. Anyone who thinks free government healthcare is a good thing should really take a hard look at what is going on up there. Those doctors don't give a shit about those people, they're guarenteed their pay weather you live or die with no liability to them. It's really, really sad...and our government wants to follow suit.
For crying out loud they want to ban drive-thru's & idling in your car for more than 3 minutes.
