Thanks. $99 for 500, $189 for 1000 rounds with free shipping. Maybe I'll grab 500 for shits and giggles. Would be need to shoot in the cetme or FAL if it cycled......

And yes, that's likely the best price around. I looked for a few minutes and everyone else was at least $25 more

The blue stuff didn't cycle in my PA10 but shot well in my 2 bolt guns.

It'll work in the G3 style rifles if you have the matching bolt for them. They have the rollers removed, and account for the smaller case head. Dan's Ammo normally has packages with the bolt and the ammo. They work pretty reliably, though I noticed they can act up if you're dumping a bunch of rounds really fast.

Found this today cleaning stuff up.
It's not dated but I'm thinking not long after I got this rifle and had decent vision in my dominant eye. I've read a lot of info on the FR8. Some true, some not but the wide open notch wasn't designed for 100 yds / meters. Zero was done with the 200 yd aperture but I dont renember the range. The open notch was for close quarters work.

I have also read on quite a few sites that the open notch is in fact a 100 yd / meter sight.

I was looking at this rifle today and thinking that I haven't shot it in a long time.

I just looked to see if dansammo.com still had the blue training ammo and he does not.
He has green plastic BLANKS, but none of the blue stuff with a projectile.
I knew I would regret not buying a bunch of it.

I'm probly down to about 1500 of those left.
I should inventory them and the plastic cored 7.62 x39.
    My
    I should shoot more.

Edit to add. I'll give you 100 rounds on me.

I was taking some closeups to show the sights and while looking at the photos, sadly realized that there were some tiny rust spots on the bolt handle.
Will oiling this/wiping with a rag be sufficient? I'm not familiar with how to deal with it on a parkerized surface.

Rear sight shown in the "100 meter" position

I forget what position this is set at (300 m I believe), but as you rotate the "dial", the peep holes line up at 3 different heights for 200, 300, and 400m.
    See diagram below.
