I'm pretty sure they stole that from a now defunct milsurp website because it looks EXACTLY like the photographic step-by-step instructions I used many years ago for my SKS that I found on the milsurp site. (which does not exist now)

Here. Poke around some. There's a shit-ton of info to be had there.
    http://milpas.cc/rifles/
Surplusrifle.com & Tennessee gun parts There may have been another entity in there as well. I can't remember.

Oh. I thought you were joking...

The barrel on the Spanish FR8 IS a CETME barrel.

That was part of the conversion. The original Mauser barrel was removed and replaced with a new, CETME barrel. A spacer was added to the magazine to allow for the different length of cartridge. A new rear sight was added, by welding it to the receiver, and the metal parts were parkerized. (and the stock was shortened and modified as well)

Yes, the CETME bayo will fit - it was designed to do so.

The FR8 was intentionally created as an interim rifle while the CETME was being introduced since they didn't have enough of CETMEs to put everyone's hands right off the bat.
This is a very fast read on them that may help.

I have a bayo, but it is out on loan at the moment being fixed up a bit as it was a little buggered up.

Uh-oh. New page - needs pics...

To give some perspective regarding size, I tossed it up with an AK-47 for comparison since a lot of people are familiar with the size of an AK.

    Ya know EM,
Since you will very shortly be buying loads and loads of 7.62X51, you should consider one of these listed on this site.

Haha! I'm almost out of "misc crap" to sell - I'd have to start selling guns to buy guns at this point.
I didn't really want to trade what I did, but I wanted the FR8 more than I needed a stockpile of mags and such, so...

Besides, I've never been drawn to Enfields. I dunno why - I think I was born this way.

The jungle carbines are interesting though. Never really met a carbine I didn't like.
