I'll bet there isn't a more comprehensive group of photographs of these rifles in existence outside of this thread. LOL

I don't recall seeing the underside of one anywhere, so here it is!

    (original, pre-conversion, rear sling position)
I had seen the "24" before, but hadn't noticed the circular stamping to the right until now

And the underside of the muzzle end - the button for opening the "storage tube" can be clearly seen

There's also some stamping on the barrel that I had not noticed until taking these photos.
Wish I could read it - maybe someone else's rifle has markings that are more clear and can clue me in.
All I can read is "SPAIN".

Cool. I assumed it would have been the caliber, or something.

By the way, I oiled the snot out of everything metal. The light rust on the bolt seemed to wipe off OK.
I'm sure that once started, there's no stopping it short of keeping it oiled, but that's easy enough now that I know it needs to be done.
I honestly never knew that parkerized stuff would rust - I thought it provided far more protection than bluing, so I never bothered oiling it.
After looking into it, I learned differently.

I believe that is the stamp of the importer.

7.62 but Noah Zark nailed it.

Rub some talcum powder or chalk into the stampings, brush off the excess so you have just white lettering left and it'll stand out better.
