Default Crimson trace grip dot isnt a crisp dot, more of a line

Basically what the title states, How crisp should a CT grip laser dot be at ten yards? Mine looks like a "/" at ten yards. Nothing like a clearly defined dot at all.

I went to CT's website and cleaned the lense as they suggested but it made no difference at all in the beam.

Is this semi normal? I'm worried that the accuracy of the laser maybe off if there is a problem with the lens itself. I'll contact CT tomorrow but wanted to check here first.

    Thanks Guys!

If I go by what the title says, then my question is, is it a 'bloods' dot in a race?

It should be a crisp dot.
What kind of gun is it on?
If it's mounted on a shiny stainless pistol or revolver and isn't sighted correctly it may be reflecting off the side. I had one mounted on a polished stainless revolver that did that until I got it sighted in at a good distance.
If that isn't the issue, it sounds like you need to send it back to CTC.

EDIT: I just read that it's probably on your new Beretta. Being black it's less likely to be a reflection but the light may still be catching something on the side of the pistol and reflecting. Since the gun is new, it's likely the laser has never been sighted with the gun. I would grab your allen wrench and move it away from the frame and see if that makes any difference.
Also, since the guy had the grip off to replace the battery, try pulling it off yourself and making sure it's mounted back on correctly.
