    Default Crossbow/gun? Legal question

I bought my first crossbow today. I was looking at arrowheads in my sportmansguide catalog (great catalog btw). I came across these arrow heads that you put a .357 magnum bullet in and it fires on impact? Very confused. Does that make my bow a rifle since I'm shooting bullets? Why is it still considered a bow if it doesn't.

They say it's for "stealthy delivery".
I wonder if they realize almost all of the noise associated with firing a gun comes from the round and not the gun itself?

I don't know the answer to your question but let us know how those work out for you.

They don't fire until they hit the target. I dint think I'll use them. 3 times heavier than normal arrow heads

I know, I watched the video, I just don't see how they are any stealthier than shooting a revolver. Honestly though, I've never fired off a round outside of a firearm and up against a piece of meat. Either way, I would say there's very little velocity or penetration because most of the power will be expelled into the meat since there's absolutely no barrel to give it direction.

I don't know about those, but I have used .357 shells on powerheads while spearfishing. There is no projectile, just a blank .357 that goes off on impact with the fish. It puts a clean hole in it and kills it immediately.
Boy, I say boy, you're reaching the limits of my medication!

dont know about the legality of them, but i have seen 3-5 review videos about them, and they are complete junk (demolition ranch and GY6 are 2 of the reviews that come to mind)

Why not just us a stick of dynamite?

Kodabow raises an even more interesting question, since the AR-15 lower receiver (actual serialized firearm) is used:

So, in a "no-firearm-discharge" municipality ... are you discharging a firearm??

Since there's no "discharge" I would say no. You could throw a lower receiver at someone or hit them in the head with it and it wouldn't be a discharge just because it has a serial number.
Which brings up another legal question, a lower receiver by itself is considered a firearm but by PA definition, without a barrel measurement it can't be defined as either a pistol or a rifle so in PA it shouldn't fall under any definition of "firearm" if it doesn't have a barrel,
    ahh, but it does.
"(1) for the purpose of subsection (b) (3), (4), (5), (7), and (8), the term "firearm" shall include any weapon which is designed to or may readily be converted to expel any projectile by the action of an explosive or the frame or receiver of the weapon."
Now, do I need a LTCF to conceal a bare pistol frame, no barrel, no trigger, no slide, no mag, just the frame?
What if I have my LTCF and im carrying an AR15 lower in my vehicle with a loaded magazine in the well, is that legal? It's not defined as a rifle or a pistol without a barrel measurement.
What a freaking mess our law makers have made for us.
