Any SCAR 16S shooters out there?
Just picked one up and love the way it handles and shoots. Not sure if I am going to put an optic/red dot on it or leave it as is. What are you using?

In your personal opinion , Do you think they are honestly worth the $2400-2600 ??

That was the only thing stopping me from having one. Too pricey.

If you compare it to a Colt R6940(P) it really isn't totally out of the ballpark. I think the 6940P is the closest "apples to apples" comparison. 6940P's, when you can find them, are pretty steep.
To answer your question, yes I thought it was worth it. I have a R6920 SOCOM and R6940. I wanted a piston rifle and heard good things about the SCAR.
So far, after a few hundred rounds down range, the rifle seems to be living up to its hype. Soft shooter, noticeably more accurate than my 6940, and cleaning is a breeze. I really like the ergonomics of the rifle. I think the open sight arrangement is superior to the AR - front sight is windage/elevation zero capable leaving the rear sight windage/elevation adjustable for local conditions.
When it comes down to it, it is a matter of preference and desire.

I have one along with a bunch of AR's, is the SCAR superior to a quality AR? I don't think it is, but I do think it's a better rifle all the way around.

I have this on my Scar 16. It is great.

Mark 4 CQ/T Riflescopes Mark 4 CQ/T Riflescopes
The Mark 4® 1-3x14mm CQ/T® is a revolutionary optical sight for firearms such as the AR-15 and M16, combining the strengths of a red dot sight and the flexibility of a variable power riflescope. Just as important, the reticle is always visible, with or without batteries, so you’re always prepared. The CQ/T is also becoming a fast favorite with competitive shooters who appreciate its unique close and long range capabilities.
I feel the scar is worth the money. My Tavor with an red dot came close to the price of the scar.
