Colt Commercial 1911 made in 1912
Does anyone know where to locate vintage 1911 parts? I am looking for a barrel and an extra magazine for a Colt Commercial 1911 made in 1912. I have been looking and have exhausted all the avenues that I know. I have tried all the internet sights, I have tried some parts houses. Maybe someone knows of a collector or a person who might have some older parts in there stash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am sending this 1911 to Turnbull to have it restored and would like all the correct parts in it. Thanks Bill

Those are going to be two hard to find items and pricey if you do come across them, but good luck in your hunt. I'll send you a PM with some places.

Re: Colt Commercial 1911 made in 1912
I talked to Rich yesterday and he is on the hunt with me to find the parts I need. I have an extra slide for a 1912 or early 1913 that is in beautiful shape he is interested in for a trade. If anyone else has any suggestions or are squirreling some old 1911 parts away I would appreciate any leads or some parts. Thanks Again Bill

Sweet. Hopefully it works out. Good trade bait always seems to shake rare stuff loose.

Re: Colt Commercial 1911 made in 1912
I found a keyhole magazine, that hurt the wallet but I got it. Did not find a 1912 barrel. I gave it to Turnbull at the Allentown show on Saturday. When I here back from them on the price I will let you guys know. They had a couple of 1911's that they restored and man were they nice. Hope the one I gave them will look that good. If anyone has any information on where to find a barrel it would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Did you try Jack First or Poppert's?

Re: Colt Commercial 1911 made in 1912
I was searching the internet today looking for some small parts for a Marlin 1893 I am putting together. Bam I find an H serf marked barrel and parts from a 1912 slide for sale. They are on there way to my house now. That was the last piece of the puzzle and man did the barrel hurt the bank account. It will go to Turnbull when I get it,had to look at it myself before sending it off.
