Dems take hard right on gun control in an election year
Kentucky Democrat Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes touts her NRA membership on the campaign trail, while Georgia Democrat Senate candidate Michelle Nunn hedges on the issue, but stresses her belief in the Second Amendment and loudly proclaims her family's hunting heritage.

Re: Dems take hard right on gun control in an election year
When are people going to realize hunting has nothing to do with the 2nd amendment?

Re: Dems take hard right on gun control in an election year
It's convenient for city dwellers to paint gun ownership as a demographic separate from themselves. When they say hunting they infer:
1) away from me, not where I live
2) people not like me (southern, uneducated, weird clothes wearing, weird music)
3) contained, small as possible: under the bed, in the closet, 2 weeks a year
4) not necessary, I eat what comes from the grocery store therefore
5) antiquated, not a part of history and culture I identify with
6) bloody and uncivilized, cruel to animals, and I'm better than that
It's a slur cleverly worked into the urban liberal vernacular. Politicians catering to them say hunting and they know exactly what they mean."You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws--that's insane!" -- Penn Jillette
"To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic." -- Ted Nugent

Re: Dems take hard right on gun control in an election year
All that needs to be asked by these phony 2nd Amendment supporters is "What does hunting have to do with 2nd Amendment?" Do you support Universal Gun Registration background checks? They will either lie like Toomey and Manchin or make up some long winded dodge.
