    I did that once... I was flipping out, I was like OK f it... I'll get a new one. Couldn't take it, came back an hour or so later and the damn thing was right on the floor where I was working! GRRR Do this in a small closet next time. lol. Learned my lesson.

    Also, hold on to those 1911 spring retainers... lost one of them as well... although they're much easier to find.

    OR you could just set up a few large rare earth magnets around your work area that should catch it, haha

    Just finger guide it with one hand and compress the detent and spring with the other until the part goes below the milled in area. Once there just drop in the paperclip and the take down pin.

    As an aside, any time you are working on weapons with springs that will grow wings, a glad bag can be your friend. Get a large one that fits the part you are working. Seal it and begin the repair/assembly.

    When the spring tries to grow wings you won't be on the floor like your dog cussing.

    I got my Hillman 1/4x2 Clovis Pin today and my PSA order came. They seem to have gotten much faster at order shipping.
