    Looks like to CYA I need a new lower. That way if someone ever challenges me on it I can say truthfully that it was never a rifle.

    Yup,
    I agree, buying a new virgin lower for your pistol build is the best way to go, and they are really cheap (right now).

    I've done two pistol "builds",both from virgin lowers,a 7.5 "and a 10.5",with the "Sig Brace".One black and one in FDE.

    Lot of fun assembling and shooting them.

    Very limited range time,but so far they function with no issues.
