    Default When getting pulled over

I get pulled over frequently by police, mostly from leaving bar which I work at because they think I'm another drunk driver. I heard many different suggestions of what to do if you are armed, place both hands on the window, put both hands in the air, put hands on steering wheel. Personally since i have roll up windows which is blocked by the holstered gun in my door I open my door slightly, put my hands clearly in the air and tell the officer "sir I have and license to carry, there is a loaded weapon in my drivers side door" and then I wait for instructions which usually they take my gun until the traffic stop is complete and return it unloaded.

    What does everyone else do?

I don't make a habit of getting pulled over.

I'm gonna guess there will be many, many answers to this one...and at least one flame war.

A suggestion for you.... fix it so you can roll your window down like a normal person. All that hands up stuff and the open door put you at an 11.5 on the hinky scale especially after midnight.

I assume you work at one bar, so it makes me wonder why you are continually being pulled over upon leaving. Don't the officers in that area recognize you and your vehicle?

I think the answer is, this is all made up.

I don't do any of that. I put hands on the wheel and wait for them to approach.

I would not open my door. Not only would that put the officer on edge but might be an open invite for a search.

You have no duty to inform in Pa that you are carrying.

I have an automatic drivers side window so it's different but I would roll that down one touch, map light on, hands on wheel, say hello. That's pretty much it.

Stop putting your gun in the door. Keep it on your person.

Indeed. And stop opening doors and putting your hands up.

General advice for anyone..., just keep your big trap shut about a gun unless the officer spots it or there is a chance of him seeing it.

Keep it concealed and keep quiet.

Hands on the wheel, speak when spoken to, present only those documents requested. Don't run your mouth. Be respectful.
