Default Basic Pistol needed for Teaching

Asking for opinions on a good semi 22LR for beginners to learn to shoot on. Leaning towards a MARK II or III due to their reputation.

Leaning away from Walther and Bersa.

Now I know we all got an opinion just as we all have....... well-- we sit on it...

    Thanks in advance....

You are right on it. The Ruger MKs are the best value out there. You will spend a lot more money to get anything even a little better. Good luck.

Browning buckmarks are just as good (or better). Their safety lever is more ergonomic (by far) and their barrels are easily removed, so if you get a deal on a used one, with a barrel size that you don't like, buy the one you want and sell the other one. :-)

Ruger barrels are threaded into the upper receiver and also silver-brazed into place. The factory trigger pull on the Browning is better (typically) and its accuracy, durability, reliability, sights, etc, are every bit as good. the browning doesn't let the firing pin retaining pin just all out, the Ruger does. The Browning does not have nearly as complicated a takedown as the Ruger. and Browning has never sold us out to the anti-gunners. Ruger has

S&W 22A is a pretty decent lil piece. Cost around $250 give or take a few bucks. Reliable and accurate.

MP22, SR22, or Walter P22. Three best choices.

The MP22 simulates a full size the best while the other two are their own pistol. The SR22 is better than the Walter though in the reliability department or from what I have seen.
