A Glock for sons' 21st birthday
Was going to sell my gen 2 Glock 23, but then my son expressed how he wanted a handgun. Along came his 21st birthday so I figured he was responsible and knowledged enough to own a handgun and handed it to him today. He had expressed interest in my 5" S&W model 27, but told that's one he's gonna have to wait awhile for.

He'll enjoy it, I'm sure.
I gave my son an old Ruger P89 that I wasn't using any longer a few years ago. He's still using it."It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

Excellent gift to give to your son on his 21 birthday. I hope he enjoys it as much as you more that likely enjoyed passing it to him.

Is your son getting his LTCF? Is that the reason for the wait until he was 21? Otherwise, you could have legally gifted it to him at 18.
In any case, that's a great gift!! I'm sure your son will enjoy it and treasure it more than any gun he buys himself in the future.

Dad got me a few guns. I'll never sell them.
I carry a 23 daily. An excellent first gun, and if he wants to run 9mm at the range it's as simple as a barrel swap and new mags.

Since you got off so "cheaply" and didn't really spend any money. Now, pay for him to attend a good "firearms course". A pistol is a great gift. TRAINING is an even better one.

Nice !
I was going to give my daughter my Gen-2 17 that she loves, but she is currently living in NY for work and school, so I ended up giving her a .38/357 lever action Rossi instead. You are a great Dad !
