    Default Non resident pistol permit

Hey everyone. I'm wondering if Monroe county offers non resident permits. I looked at the list and don't think its updated. I know Pike county is not accepting apps, but the site says it does. Once I get a non resident permit is it valid through all of PA? Just looking for some clarity. Thank You.

I can't speak for Monroe County, but a PA LTCF is good throughout PA. There really is no such thing as a nonresident license, as the licenses are all the same, resident and nonresident alike. The only nonresident part is you.

You will need a NY carry license in order to get a PA LTCF. All county sheriffs should be accepting apps, some have a burr up their saddle about it, but they have no legal basis to refuse.

    Good luck.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

For clarity, in PA we do not have a "Pistol Permit", what PA issues is a License To Carry Firearms aka LTCF.

Thanks. That's actually one of my pet peeves when someone uses the shortened versions or initials and never once spells it out.

I went in to the Sheriff's office in Stroudsburg, and was told by the clerk that they do not issue LTCF (License to Carry Firearms) to non-residents.

This is consistent with the application in their office, which states "non-residents should consult the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office for states with reciprocity" (paraphrased).

They also told me that "none of the counties surrounding Monroe issue LTCF's to non-residents".

I would guess that there are more PA sheriffs who do issue to non res than not. You just have to call and ask them...even though ALL are supposed to.

I have heard the new sheriff in Lackawanna County will issue a non-resident an LTCF. This comes with the disclaimer of not being first hand knowledge, but might be worth a call.

No, it can be one of three possible combinations

    1. Gun grabbing hater
    2. Gun grabber
    3. Hater

Pretty sure that's all the possibilities though
