Default Yes, unicorns are real - and so are open carriers in PA

Yes, unicorns are real it appears - See unicorn photo at http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2...ns-are-re.html

And so are open carriers - are you doing your duty to be spotted openly carrying while going about town from time to time while minding your own business?

And organizing family friendly low unicorn social gatherings in public?

so, by interpretation, those of us who don't feel the need (or believe its tactically unsound) to OC are not "doing our duty"?

not to be terribly disrespectful here, but frankly, i don't need some guy who doesn't even live here telling me what my "duty" is.

you do what you feel is your duty, i'll do mine.

thanks for your work in making sure folks know the law, and encouraging the exercising of our rights, but also respect other folks opinions on the matter, and don't act like folks are doing something wrong by NOT open carrying.

I'm pretty sure Mike was only referencing those of us who open carry.

By default, if you choose to open carry, you also unwittingly become an ambassador for the movement.

I wouldn't jump on the guys back so quickly.

I will not be doing "my duty" today when I go to the grocery store.

I OC because I want to/when I want to, not because I have to, or need to.
It's not my duty to "be spotted".
If I educate some people along the way... great, but it isn't my duty to do so.

I am not a myth, or a legend. (But I am "the man!" lol)

That is how I read it too. Jaybel's comment shows that things can be interpreted two opposite ways.

I've always preferred to open carry. And I have been doing so for about 6 months now in Manheim Township... Lancaster county, Not to be confused for West Manheim Township in York. So far only 2 police encounters while open carrying. One time a cop looked at me funny while driving past me as as walked into a Giant for groceries but nothing ever came of it. And the other time I was pulled over for an expired registration and informed him of my status. He didn't even flinch. Ran my license came back and gave me a warning for the reg and told me to have a nice day.

CC if you don't have time to chitchat about it with the curious or deal with cops responding to "man with gun" calls. OC if you have the time and don't mind dealing with possible sidetracking. Kinda goes like that, right?

BTW if I see someone OCing in Shrewsbury ect area, I WILL want to stop and chitchat! I missed the last time by being stuck in a line and the guy was rushing out anyway.
