How to get a copy of an old 4473?
Anyone know how to get a copy of a 4473 after the dealer has folded the business?

Re: How to get a copy of an old 4473?
Technically you're not supposed to get a copy.
If the transaction was 20 year or more ago, the FFL could have destroyed them at his discretion. Any that were less than 20 years old, or what he had in possession, had to have been turned in to the ATF.
Rumor is that the ATF is scanning them into a database. But even if that isn't true - it would likely be in a box, in some warehouse somewhere. They have no process for private inquiries. If you just happen to know where they store them, maybe you can bribe a clerk to dig in countless boxes, folders, etc for that one particular 4473.
So, odds are, you aren't going to get a copy.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
