Default Polishing a feed ramp on a Sig 224 (229)

I have a slightly rough feed ramp on my Sig 224 I would like to smooth up.
I have a Foredom tool and a variety of sanding drums and polishing compounds available. My main question is how much (if any) of the sharp shoulders can I soften and the leading edge of the ramp itself?
    Any advice welcome.

I guess a photo would help, let me find the camera.

Polishing a feed ramp increases friction and slows feed. There is a reason a golf ball has all those little dents in it.

Does the pistol have multiple failures to feed?

If not, just shoot it. Everyone's knee jerk reaction is to tinker with guns for imagined problems that do not exist.

If there is an issue, send it back to SIG, they will make it right.

"they will make it right" is probably generally true. However, I have an RCS going back for the third time, and, after discussion with the customer service rep, do not have a warm/fuzzy. (I don't see the problem as insurmountable; just want it to feed/fire 185g JHP reliably.)

I went ahead with out any of the helpful advice and did the work. It runs very well now and I can shave in the reflection.

That's great! Glad for you and congratulations

Hope you didn't mind about the golf ball thing...I was just having some fun with it.

Did you change the ramp (or anything else) in any other manner beyond polishing?
