CC in a gated community?
Can gated communities prevent residents from carrying concealed even if someone has a LTCF?

Re: CC in a gated community?
Quite possibly. All depends on the agreement you signed with the homeowners association. You agreed to abide by the by-laws. You give up a lot of rights buying into one of those places.
In one by me a few years ago , some foreigner complained about another resident flying the American flag.
By-laws said 'no flags'.
Home buyer agreed to follow the by-laws.
Bye bye flag!I don't speak English , I talk American!

Re: CC in a gated community?
If you are doing cc correctly, it should not matter. If people keep seeing your cc then you need training. Plus why would you want to live there anyway.

Re: CC in a gated community?
I live in a community that governed by an HOA. Bylaws here state no hunting and no discharging of a firearm. Well I cc everyday and weekly Oc. I had no problems. And if it comes to defending my family, I will discharge.

Do these HOA's carry the weight of law? Can they fine you or get you kicked off your own property?

Re: CC in a gated community?
IANAL IIRC It is not so much that their rules become law. It is more of an contract you sign when you move into a HOA. I have more experience with condo associations but they basically work the same. In the condos yes you get fines but only lose your condo is for lack of payment for maintenance. In the worse case of this in Miami. An ill little of Hispanic lady had to get rid of her service animal.(a mini poodle) The CA wanted a certain type of certification which did not exist. She got help from a local tv station. The problem is some of the people on the board did not like any dogs and did not understand the Fair Housing Act. Now that case would not help because gun owners are not a protected class. Again IANAL and perhaps some one with a legal mind could answer.
I was only sightly joking before. You could also carry it inside a bag/box, like going to the range. So if the rule is no CC then you still be able to get it to the range in a bag or box. You should be able to get a copy of the rules and fines before any purchase.
