    Default Crimson Trace for XD

I'm thinking about getting a set of these for the XD subcompact. Anyone have a pair on an XD they own? I was wondering what your thoughts were on these?

I put one on my 9mm XD. Its a great addition. The only thing that could be perceived as a negative is that the XD model makes the pistol a little bit longer. This could make it harder to conceal.

I've tried other lasers, including a LaserMax guide rod laser in my .40 XD and none can compare with Crimson Trace for ease of use.

I'm confused. Why would this make the pistol longer. It is going right on the grip and replacing the original isn't it?

I wondered how they compared to other Lasers. I know the ones I have picked up at the demo table in gunshops were super easy to activate.

I run a set on my M&P9C and love em. The Glock and XD lasers look like they install a tad funky...I would have to try one before buying. My M&P laser replaces the back strap and is just a tad wider than the factory medium grip. Shoots well, and so far has held zero very well.

You can't replace the grips on an XD, so the laser grips fit over the existing grip. In order to secure the laser grip, they have a screw fastener at the back top of the frame. The end result is similar to a beaver tail on a 1911.

There's an online place that had them for 249.00 plus shipping, don't know if still that price. I don't have the money right now, but am interested in them myself. I went to Freedom Armory to see if they had an XD one in stock they could stick on an XD so I could see the grip thickness difference. They didn't have any for XD's in stock so I asked if they could stick a Glock one on a Glock so I could see the amount of extra thickness as a close enough estimate. So the guy put one on a Glock 19, and it felt ok to me, and the activation button is right there easy to control.

Now I am not sure about the extra beavertail effect on the XD I have seen in pics, nor holster fit.
    LOL, I am a woman...
