    Default They can't be serious

So, I need a place to shoot at stuff.
I found a place read their rules and I cannot believe what I see.

Firearms will be loaded as follows:
Rifle - (1) Round Limit (unless it is a shooting match)

    Skeet - (2) Round Limit

    Trap - (2) Round Limit

    Pistol - (6) Round Limit
is this poor wording, or are they really saying you can't load more than 1 round into your rifle or 6 rounds into your pistol at any given time?? If so,
Why the hell would anyone go there???

Please tell me I just am misreading this.

I guess it does not matter, they are nowhere near me anyway. I need something on the west side of pittsburgh on the west side of the river if possible.

    Thanks,
    f

i live on the west side of pittsburgh. Plum and pmsc are way too far away in drive time.

Those were rules for some place called McKeesport, which is also too far away.

Public Game commission ranges have those same asinine rules as well.

Well the state farmlands aren't as bad in that you can load three rifle rounds at a time... great fun with a 10/22 and 25 round mags.

Not sure how far away it would be for you, but I took a carbine class with 3 Rivers Tactical at Beaver Valley rifle pistol club and it was a great place. If it weren't an hour away by toll road, I'd join.

Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol Club is worth looking at. AFAIK, they have no mag limits. It seems to be more of a no shit shooters/shooting sports range open to a variety of weapons, rather than the sportsmans clubs that cater to the hunter and benchrest shooters that put a box of ammo down range a year.

I have to do something....I'm used to a no-membership-required, state-operated range, 15 minutes from my house, where people fire everything from .22 derringers to full auto machine guns - and no one bats an eye. In fact, the very last time I was there, some guy two lanes down was really going at it with an MP5. He probably went through $2000 worth of ammo in the hour or so that I was there (:

So far, it looks like everything around here is a good distance away and has rules that make it a better use of my time to go to the mall and go shopping with my wife.

We lived in Brookline for 10 years, and my in-laws were in Oakmont. We always visited them. They didn't come to the South Hills once, since the thought of crossing rivers and driving through tunnels was more than they could bear. Break free of those chains. Cross a river. Go through a tunnel. Be wild.

    Not sure where those are.

I go through the Fort Pitt tunnel every day to go to work - and again on the way home. That's enough (:

I don't want to get stuck in road construction and traffic for more time than I plan to spend shooting at stuff. That's not real productive (:
