    Default Sarco rocks!

So here’s my good experience with Sarco. I am pretty happy with these guys right now.

About two months or so ago I bought a RIA GI 1911. My objective was to turn it into an old GI clone. Bought an arched MSH with a lanyard loop from Sarco. Didn’t turn out to be a perfect fit but for the price it was a nice add. Doesn’t have to be perfect for my $400 RIA. So far so good.

Then I see these parked seven round 1911 magazines with FedGov-looking markings on them. They are actually pretty cool looking so I ordered two of them for the RIA-GI-Clone-Thingy. They arrived. And…

They were rough. Quite rough. Finish was rough. Follower groaned inside the mag. Crunchy. Not the mom kind of crunchy. I could’ve lived with all of that I guess but then they wouldn’t lock into the gun. And they scraped and were just a bad fit all the way in. And it wasn’t just the RIA either. Tried them in my Kimbers. Tried them in my Para. Tried them in my Taurus. They were just bad mags.

So I started trading emails back and forth with Sarco customer service. Telling them the above. And they were pretty cool about it. They said to send them back and they’d credit my account. I wrote that I didn’t want to pay a restock because it was the mags that were fault; it wasn’t anything I did by ordering something wrong. They were cool with that too.

And then came the hidden cost of online accessory buying – the damn return shipping. Now I have a fuel vendor (I buy fuel for a PP, that’s my job) that is not even ten minutes from Sarco. Right up the road. So I get an RMA from Sarco and I say OK, I’ll drop these off to you the next time I’m out that way. Probably in about two weeks. Long story short, I was told not to bring them back. Not to visit the store. Don’t even think about it. They had to be returned to them by mail or UPS.

Well, fine. I guess. I’m irritated though. Figured that I’d get a twenty dollar credit for the mags and spend ten bucks shipping them back. Wonderful.

Well guess what??? Sarco hooked me up! I sent those two mags back and told them the return shipping was $6.31 and they did the following:

    1. Credited my CC for the $6.31 return shipping. AND
    2. Sent me two brand new ACT 8-round mags as replacements, no charge. AND
    3. They did all of this quickly. Like in a week.

I am impressed! I don’t know how many times over the years I’ve had little nickel and dime stuff like this with some of the other gun accessory folks. Stuff that I had to return or couldn’t use and threw it away… I ALWAYS seemed to end up eating five or ten or twenty bucks by the time it was all said and done.

I would always end up on the short end.

    Not this time!!

So Thank You Sarco. You guys rock.

And I be buying my next gun from you. And whatever else I need. I’m sure I’ll be able to find something.

Yes. They are a few minutes off of the Morgan Hill exit in Easton, which is the last Pennsylvania exit on I-78 before New Jersey.
    ...and they have a plan...

Good point. For the love of God don't miss your exit.

These guys are pretty good. They sell a lot of really oddball milsurp stuff you can't get anywhere else, and all but the most collectible is just sitting there on racks so you can pick it up and examine it without assistance. I like to buy stuff from their barrel of broken or incomplete civilian guns and make a project out of them.
