Default FYI, picked up some nice tactical style shorts cheap

Last week I was at Gabriel Bros (which is a liquidation chain, they get a lot of name brand and little known stuff from the likes of London Fog and Hot Topic, etc).

Well I picked up a couple of tactical style shorts for $5 each. They've got very nice deep pockets. I can fit my Ruger .45 ACP in these pockets (albeit with a bit of printing). They're a cotton/spandex blend (97%/3%) and feel like cotton except they show a decent bit of stretch (nice for those tactical situations - like jumping fence).

They're Newport Harbor D.A.R.T.+ (Direct Action Response Trouser). They had both shorts and pants.

I know there are several Gabriel Bros throughout the PA area. I go to the one in York off of I-83

While these may not be professional/LEO/military grade tactical pants & shorts. They're pretty darn comfortable and quite gun friendly IMHO. So I thought I'd share.

Especially for those of you who are either just starting to CC, and need another inch or two in your wardrobe or have put on another inch or two - or both (like me). *lol*

For $5, can't really beat it. So I just thought I'd share. Gabriel Bros stock is constantly rotating, here today - gone tomorrow. So if you need new shorts and pants I'd probably check out one near you. Or call if you live a bit far away to make sure they still have them stocked in your size.

PS - Forum mods, I wasn't sure where to put this. It's not really a classified. But if it's in the wrong place, please feel free to move it.

Unhappy Re: FYI, picked up some nice tactical style shorts cheap

I do think I mentioned both pants and shorts.

    *shrugz*

Hey, it's not 5.11 Tactical gear. But it's also not $50+ an item. Was just trying to help out some of those of us who have limited budgets and would like to spend more $$$ on guns than on our clothes to conceal them.

Would shorts with spandex make my ass look bigger or smaller?
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Cool Re: FYI, picked up some nice tactical style shorts cheap

Depends on whether you're registered Democrat or Republican. Independents are iffy, it can go either way with them.

Damn, guess I'll have to rely on my holster then

I purchased some shorts at Wal-Mart (I cc'ed when I was shopping and they didn't know it) that I guess would be considered Tactical Style Pants according to 551.

The deep front pockets work good for carrying stuff (PaPtriots flyer, clip on knife, cell phone, etc. Ever notice how regular pants pockets fill up quickly when you get all your "stuff" on you?) The side pockets fit an extra magazine nicely and it is out of the way till you need it(one pair I got has a zipper on the side pocket so I can't loose my extra magazine). The elastic waistband allows the pants to stretch around the holster for a much more comfortable fit. I just wear a belt to snug it up and hold it in place.

Not 551's. But I could see them falling into what some would call the Tactical Shorts catagory. Work great for me. And they aren't $50 from 551.
