Remington 870 Express with Super Mag barrel??? WHAT

I was at a Gander Moutain and they had Remington 870 Express models on sale. 3 of them had barrels that stated chambered at 2-3/4", 3", 3-1/2"

I really want to go back and look again because I am 99% sure the received said "Remington 870 Express"

My understanding was that all 870 barrels would fit all 870 recievers except the Super Mag 3-1/5" and a Field Special (no longer made)

So a regular 870 barrel would fit a 870 Super Mag shotgun... however
a 870 Super Mag barrel would NOT fit a 870 Express..

Any help would be appreciated as the Gander Mountain is around 60 miles away.

I used to have an 870 Express Super Mag, if I recall the "Super Mag" on the receiver was either hard to read or not there.

Also found out that Remington now sends barrels that fit all 870's all shell sizes with the Express.. but you cannot shoot the 3-1/2" unless it is on a Super Mag received

Yes, mine is an 870 Express Super Mag too, but is says exactly that on the receiver.

Yes, correct. I bought one last month to SBS and it came with a barrel that could handle up to 3 1/2" if it was a super mag marked receiver. Since it was a regular express, up to 3" only.
