Only checks whether the gun was ever reported stolen to that site, but it helps with peace of mind. There are other resources available too, but there's no definitive resource. That being said, Bud's does have a good reputation. Good Luck.

When I am looking at a used gun, I am probably going to check the serial number on Google and or with the manufacturer anyway. I am looking to determine the manufacture date and see if it has been recalled.
Hopefully one of those searches would bring up a red flag if it had been reported stolen.
