.38/.357 ShotShells
Anyone use shotshells? (.357)
Just found two 10 packs. How is the accuracy/distance of shotshells?
~THANKS~

Re: .38/.357 ShotShells
I use them in the first two chambers of my SP101 when fishing or hiking.
Accuracy... there really isn't any. The pattern looks to be centered on the target. From about 5 feet to 5 yards, a snake shot with it will most likely be dead. Closer, and the pattern is really dense. Haven't shot further than 5 yards because as I moved back that's where it got pretty thin.
IOW, at the ranges I would actually want it, the CCI shells at least provide the results I want."Never give up, never surrender!" Commander Peter Quincy Taggart

Re: .38/.357 ShotShells
I've found the farthest reliable distance was about 5-10ft.
The lack of a choke, the rifling and the low shot charge really limit the ability to get enough pellets into a critter to have much effect.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

They are great for snakes inside of 10 feet but no good outside of that. I've tried to shoot them from a rifle and it does not help. Very short range.

Re: .38/.357 ShotShells
I've shot them out of my Service Six just to see how they worked and they didn't penetrate paper at 25 yds. I do believe that close range as stated they work good. Also have very low recoil.
