    Default Belle Vernon Walmart OC

I saw 3 guys OC'ing today at my local Walmart in Belle Vernon.

They were walking somewhat fast out of the garden center.

I tried to catch up with them as they were entering the parking lot to strike up a conversation. I say "Hey! Do you guys OC everywhere? Its nice to see someone else doing it for a change..."

    Their response?

"I DONT GIVE A SHIT I'LL PROTECT MY SECOND AMENDMENT!!!!"

    Ok.

I guess they had somewhere else to be?

Was this anyone here? Did you think I was trying to heckle you?

I wonder if you respond to a fellow OC'er like that how you would respond to regular Joe blow or the 5-0. I was just trying to strike up a conversation with a group of like people that you almost never see on a daily basis.

Sounds to me like they really did not hear you or what you said. They most likely assumed what it was and acted incorrectly.

Or they could have been rude as hell. Either way, shame on them. If they are on here, "Way to go numbnuts. If you don't have the time to respond appropriately (or have nothing nice to say) then say nothing."

    "Cool"
    "Great"
    "Gotta go"
    "In a rush"
    "Sorry, no time"

    Much better responses IMHO.

Sorry to hear that you were treated that way, could be a possibility that they miss understood what you said.

Why do folks insist on making contact with folks who carry openly?

Just because they are also carrying a gun it doesn't mean there is some comradery or desire to have strangers approach them. Seriously, keeping people from approaching is one reason why people carry openly.

I agree. If it was at a range, gunshow, or the like it would in IMO be more acceptable

I keep looking for the "like" button. There is a great deal of truth in what you said right there.

You practically chased these guys down, you say you needed to catch up to them. They were obviously in a hurry and on their way to somewhere else. Maybe they didn't have time to be bothered by a complete stranger commenting on their open carrying. Maybe they assumed you were an anti. Who knows, but I don't go out of my way to start conversation with a complete stranger just because he has a gun.

I would certainly hope that is a matter of simply not hearing you correctly. Even if they didn't want to be approached, their response is just plain rude. Poor social manners.
