    Default reloading hand loads...

I made up about 25 cartridges for my rifle.

After firing 5 rounds I think the pressure is too high.

I used a impact puller/inertia puller or whatever you want to call it, to remove the bullets and powder from the remaining rounds
so I can reload them with a proper charge.

Can I simply reload the brass again or does it need to be sized again since
the bullets were seated and then knocked out.

I would think not but tell what cartridge your doing first. Why do you think the pressure is to high? did you load the powder at the Start level for the powder charge? how did you weigh the charge?

It needs sized again or the bullets may have some setback.

These are .308 Winchester. 2 out of the first 5 rounds had their primers pop out
when fired. One of the primers jammed the bolt.

Its Varget powder, 168 gr Sierra Match King BTHP, CCI large pistol primers,
    and Federal brass.

These were not the starting charge. I started at 42 grains and worked my way up in 0.5 grain increments. These were 45 grains, still a full grain below Hodgdons recommended max.

    Thats a drag.

Can I re-use the primers or will stuffing them in and then popping them out damage them?

If you pop the primers out, don't reuse them. they will not be reliable.

Did you mean large rifle primers? Just curious if you mis-typed here, if you DID use large pistol primers this is your primer problem, large rifle and large pistol are not interchangable and are designed to ignite different powders, the problem you describe sounds like a primer mix up.

I don't think 45 grains is to hot myself for .308, I made quite a few with the same bullet and load for my FAL's, saw no benefit to the extra grain and settled in at a 44 grain load.

What kind of rifle are you using?

I have re-used many dozens of primers I have removed, never had a problem myself. I do have a LEE decapper and go real easy with it, no visual damage to the primer and haven't had a failure with re-used primers yet.

All you have to do is neck size the brass. You wouldn't need to decap again if you used the correct primers.

Varget shouldn't be that hot in your gun to pop primers out. You need large rifle primers.

My apologies. I just finished loading some .45 rounds and had pistol on my mind.

The primers I used in the rifle ammo were definitely large rifle primers.

I mixed them up in my post, not in the cartridges.

The rifle is a DPMS LR-308C (also called a TAC20) AR type rifle.
Its actually chambered in 7.62 NATO, but I shoot 308 through it.

the 45 grain load was as heavy as I had planned to go anyway, and was just trying different loads for accuracy.

43.5 grains actually gave me the tightest group

Unfortunately I only have the full length resize die.

Maybe its time to get the neck sizing die...
