Re-lining .22

I have a Stevens Favorite I wold like to get relined. I see that Brownells has the liners for about $36 but think I prefer to have this done by a professional Smith. Any suggestions (pro or Con) on this work? I live near Harrisburg, but would travel if necessary to get a good job.

I would first question why it would need the re-lining ? Could be lead build up ? corrosion inside the barrel ? gunsmith would be somewhat costly,a customer had me inquire about three years ago for him and the g smith wanted $300 total ! It would be cheaper to buy a new 22.but if sentiments dictate you can go the cost. good luck.

I had the same .22 relined because it was throwing keyholes at 25yds. Tried everything but nothing helped so I went with a reline. I had it done by a smith and it was $180 about 4 years ago. Shoots like shit. 4in low and 5in to the right at 25yds at max adjustment. I would never do it again. I would look for a bbl in good shape.(tough to find since some of these had black powder rounds shot in them)
Those Stevens barrels (some) have the bore off-center. I don't know if this contributed to my problem or not. I believe he chucked it up in a lathe and steady rest. I did not see how he indicated the bore before drilling it.
